The Visible Process lab at CMU’s School of Design is home to an interdisciplinary team of researchers studying the mediated capture, analysis, and summarization of diverse social activities and processes. We are interested in understanding everyday experiences as culturally formed, technologically mediated and aesthetically rendered. Currently we are studying the documentation of integrative design processes, the development of hybrid physical-digital experience capture systems, the use of speculative design strategies in the home, and the creation of an online portal supporting networks of creativity and innovation across science, engineering, art and design.
